Built on the successful “Conference & Expo” model developed for the U.S.-based RoboBusiness Leadership Summit (now in its 8th year), RoboBusiness Europe is designed to help robotics companies connect with potential clients and venture capitalists.
The first edition of RoboBusiness Europe will be held at the Porto Antico Conference Centre in Genoa on 11 and 12 April.
RoboBusiness Europe will open with a keynote from presenting insights into the trends driving the global commercial robotics sector and share some of the key tactics required to build a successful robotics company.
Throughout April 11 & 12, specialist sessions will cover topics as diverse as business development and venture capital financing; medical and industrial robotics; and safety, security, emergency response and rescue robots.
Sergio Orlandi, head of the ITER Directorate for the construction of the nuclear fusion reactor near Aix en Provence (and formerly General Manager at Ansaldo Nucleare), will represent ITER --potentially a key client for companies in the robotic systems and remote handling sector. .
The specialist session dedicated to venture capital funding will be attended by 360° Capital Partners, IBAN (Italian Business Angels Network), Atlante Ventures – Intesa Sanpaolo, Fondamenta Sgr, with more venture capitalists are expected to confirm their attendance over the coming weeks.
RoboBusiness Europe offers unique networking opportunities for venture capitalists, researchers, end-users and robotics companies. If you're a researcher looking to commercialize their work, a venture capitalist searching for “the next big thing,” an end-users hoping to find a robotic solutions, or a robotics company that wants to showcase your work, RoboBusiness Europe is the only place to be from April 11-12, 2013.
RoboBusiness Europe will adopt the American format of “Conference & Expo”: a succession of round tables, meetings, talks, networking, and sharing of international experiences and case histories aimed at business development.
The target audience is split into four categories:
Researchers: universities and technical centres of excellence engaged in concrete solutions such as patents and spin-offs;
Companies: producing a wide range of robotic solutions;
End-users: businesses, services and end-users from hospitals to manufacturers;
Finance: venture capitalists, banks, investment funds.
Three important events led to the forthcoming launch of RoboBusiness Europe: first, the partnership between EH Publishing and Innovability, which was initiated in Pittsburgh in October 2012; second, ClickUtility coming on board to organize the event; and, finally, in Nov 2012, a Think Tank meeting in Genoa, which was attended by thirty experts from across Europe to discuss and validate the event programme.
Why Italy? Italy was chosen as the location for the first edition of RoboBusiness Europe due to its long tradition of cutting-edge robotics research. (It's a little known fact that the Italian robotics sector celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2012.)
Why Genoa? Genoa is a beautiful, coastal city with excellent transport networks and a cosmopolitan atmosphere. As if that wasn't reason enough, Genoa is also home to a cluster of world-leading robotics research centers, including the Italian Institute of Technology, the University Polytechnic School and the Robotics Centre.
